I was so nervous for my first CrossFit class in August 2018. I had only been to a traditional gym before, and had this idea that in order to be a CrossFit athlete, you had to fit into this “certain box”. I was worried that I was going to be welcomed with stares and judgment. I could not have been more wrong. What I found at CrossFit FC was a community of uplifting, encouraging, fun friends who have become like family to me. In my CrossFit journey, I have hit countless PR lifts, blown my endurance level out of the water, been inspired to focus on nutrition, and have lost over 60lbs. My favorite thing about CrossFit workouts is that every single thing we do is able to be modified to any fitness level. The coaches are so knowledgeable and are able to give you exercises that not only work the same body area but will help you improve so that someday you can do the programmed movement. Going to the gym used to be a chore that I felt I HAD to do. Now I look forward to walking through those doors and being greeted by my CrossFit FC family, and getting in a workout that I feel proud to accomplish”
